BOLO 345 is a renovation project of an apartment situated at the heart of Bos en Lommer. The building was designed in 1939 by architects L. Göbel en G. den Hertog according to principles of General Expansion Plan of 1934 in Amsterdam but its execution was put on hold due to the outbreak of the Second World War. Even though the original layout of the apartment was maintaned over the years, lack of maintenance left the apartment in a poor condition.
The entire floor plan is transformed in a way to suit as a live and work place for a young scientist. During the renovation, the entire outer shell is insulated from inside to minimize heatloss during winter. With the request of the client, a layer of acoustic insulation is installed on the adjoining walls as well.
